Apple Itunes restore error 1603 (iphone 2g, Iphone 3g, Iphone 3gs)

IF you get the Error 1603 while trying to restore, try the following:

Restart the Apple mobile service

Create a new User account in windows and try using that

Use a different USB port

Put the Iphone in DFU mode

Put the Iphone in Restore mode

If you have a sim card in the iphone.. take it out (It works sometimes)

Something as simple as restarting the computer and trying again might do it...

Allow the battery to fully discharge and recharger it and try again

Uninstall and reinstall itunes (try an older / newer version)

If you are determined enough.. using one or combination of the above methods does work..

it worked for me after approx 10 tries and me removing the simcard in the end..!!!
